Metabolism, hypertension and cardiovascular risk Research Group
The group is made up of doctors, nurses, nurses and econometricians from the Health Region of Girona dedicated to the study of blood pressure measurement, the diagnosis, monitoring and control of arterial hypertension, the subclinical vascular disease associated with arterial hypertension and the dynamic behavior of cardiovascular risk factors. There is collaboration with the following groups or entities: a) Vascular Health Research Group (ISV Research Group), Girona, (IP: Rafa ramos) b) Research Group in Statistics, Econometrics and Health (GRECS) of the University of Girona, (IP: Marc Saez) c) CIBERESP of the University of Girona, (IP: Marc Saez) d) HTA group and CAMFIC Digital Health group The main objective of the group is to make contributions on the role of self-measurement of blood pressure. In particular the technique of measuring blood pressure, the Self-measurement of Arterial Pressure (AMPA), the Ambulatory Monitoring of Arterial Pressure (MAPA), the measurement of central pressure in primary care in the diagnosis and in monitoring HTA in 3 aspects: 1.- Normality cut-off points for the diagnosis of isolated clinical HTN based on intermediate variables (evolution of subclinical vascular disease) and final variables (cardiovascular and renal morbidity and mortality); 2.- Suitability of blood pressure measurement techniques in the diagnosis of arterial Hypertension (Blood pressure at consultation (BP), AMPA, MAP). 3.- Non-invasive measurement of central pressure in primary care in relation to CAP, AMPA, MAP in the diagnosis of hypertension.
